Invoca is call tracking and analytics software that attributes inbound phone calls to the marketing campaigns that drove them. This article explains what the Invoca for Google Ads integration does and links to the rest of the setup series.
Before you begin: You need an active Invoca account with permission to manage integrations. The installation and configuration guides linked below in this series require you to be logged in to your Invoca account.

Overview

Google Ads (formerly known as AdWords) is a leading online advertising platform. When you connect Invoca to Google Ads, Invoca sends data about the phone calls and in-call events (“Signals”) that your ads generate back to Google Ads as conversions, so Google Ads can report and optimize on them the same way it does web-form conversions. This is the first article in a series covering everything you need to set up, support, and succeed with the Invoca for Google Ads integration:
  • What’s possible with the integration
  • Step-by-step directions to install and administer your integration
  • Adding Invoca to your Google Call Extensions
  • Viewing Invoca data in Google Ads reports
  • FAQs and troubleshooting support

How it works

When someone calls a phone number that Invoca is tracking, Invoca captures details about that call — including which Google Ads keyword or ad drove it — as Marketing Data. The integration passes that call, along with any Signals your account tracks (such as “qualified lead” or “appointment booked”), to Google Ads as a conversion. From there, Google Ads treats a phone conversion the same way it treats a web-form conversion: it appears in your conversion reporting and can inform Smart Bidding.

Why choose Invoca for Google Ads?

With this integration, you can:
  • Send Invoca phone calls, qualified calls, and Signals to Google Ads as conversions, helping you optimize ad spend.
  • View Invoca data in your Google Ads reporting for a unified view of campaign success across phone and web conversions.
  • Add Invoca call tracking to your Google Call Extensions, incorporating call tracking into click-to-dial search ads.
